Strahl & Pitsch Inc. is the leading refiner of Beeswax in the United States. Four thousand years ago in Egypt, the honey bee was regarded as a symbol of royalty.
The honey bee, Apis Mellifera, secretes Beeswax in order to build up a hexagonal cell in which honey is stored. Wax first secreted by the bee is a transparent colorless liquid, which turns into a semi-solid substance on contact with the atmosphere. Beeswax varies in color from yellow through brown to black, and it is believed that the pollen carried by the bee affects the coloration. Local flora on which the bee feeds is responsible for this variation, and pollination of agricultural crops is essential for a food supply.
Strahl & Pitsch produces White and Yellow Grades of Beeswax. Specialty Beeswaxes are available from specific geographical locations, along with Beeswax blended with other natural and mineral waxes.
Synthetic and Substitute Beeswaxes are also available. These customized wax compounds mirror the properties of genuine Beeswax, providing cost savings in applications where genuine Beeswax is not required.

Forms available: Beeswax is offered in mechanically molded slabs, one-pound cakes and pastilles (pellets).
Typical applications for carnauba wax include: Cosmetics, Creams, Glamour Products, Lotions, Pharmaceuticals, Ointments, Tablet Coatings, Candles, Confections, Hardshell Coatings, Wood and Floor Polishes
Compatibility: Beeswax is compatible with most animal, vegetable and mineral waxes and a large variety of natural and synthetic resins.

Beeswax is approved for end use under regulations 21CFR 184.1973 and is CTFA listed.
